A total lunar eclipse when the moon was near its perigee and it was the second full moon that month resulted in a super blue blood moon.  The next time this will happen is on January 31, 2037, one metonic cycle (19 years) later.

This eclipse was the longest total lunar eclipse in the 21st century as it occurred near apogee.  Totality lasted approximately 103 minutes and occurred simultaneously with the perihelic opposition of Mars, a coincidence that happens once every 25,000 years
